Sharing a story

Hello everyone!
As consultant I receive periodically, from our corporate office, emails with news, updates, and also stories from real people - either consultants or customers out there, mostly are remarkable as they share their experiences or ideas. And this one you'll see is just one of what I like to say...it's what SCRAPBOOKING is all about:

Memory Protectors® Helped Scrapbook Survive Fire

“I am a long time customer of Close To My Heart and had many scrapbooks done, including one for each of my daughters. We lost our home to a fire last year. Both of the girls' scrapbooks were on my kitchen table and we thought they were a total loss.

“Two days after the fire, we were rummaging through the ashes to look for some valuable jewelry and a friend came upon the scrapbooks. The table they were on was totally gone, as were most of the rest of our belongings, and both scrapbooks were badly burned but still fairly intact on the outside. We took them both out of the house and started looking at them and were super surprised to see that many of the photos were salvageable!

“However it happened, the Memory Protectors® sealed together and preserved most of the pages. We lost photos from the edges of some of the pages because of burning, and lost some to moisture from the water and chemicals used to try to put out the fire. But we were able to salvage an incredible amount out of those books. Both the albums and Memory Protectors were from Close To My Heart.”

“We just wanted to let you know how well your products did in such an extreme situation and that we have told all of our fellow scrapbookers about our ordeal.”
Kylie Mortensen, Customer, Trego, WI

Well, thank you Kylie for sharing your story and I do wish you can soon restore and create more amazing scrapbooks for all your family!

Have a great weekend!

Sad News from Jennifer's Blog

Hi...
For those of you who visit my blog and Jennifer McGuire's, you'd probably know the Card Drive she is having - ending October 31 - for Kate(the little girl with cancer) and Eric (the 9 years-old boy who has ALD).
SADLY - Eric passed away at Oct.25 night, day before his birthday.
I believe that lots of card makers out there, who lovely made and sent cards to the kids, felt the same as I did. Sadness and heavy heart.
Just wish Eric could get to receive the cards. They would surely make him smile.

To know details about Eric and his Family:

Prayers and thoughts going out to Eric's Family.

SHARING - CTMH SWAP

Hi there!

The images you see above are what I did last week for the CTMH BB Scripture Swaps. The pages are meant to fit in the My Creations Display Album (Z1054).
They are both 6" x 6" layouts with focus in following scriptures:

BELLA papers (the floral layout-sorry for the blurry picture): "Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in LOVE - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NRSV"
SWEET HOME papers( the stripes layout): "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul...-Psalm 23:13 KIV"

The SWEET HOME is a paper pack featured in the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book and BELLA is from the Summer Idea Book. I like that while BELLA is sweet and plenty of flowers, the SWEET HOME collection has elegant and neutral colors and designs, allowing lots of possibilities and both feminine and masculine themed items.

The stamp set used for these layouts are: ENDLESS FRIENDSHIP ( D1354) and WELCOME HOME (D1370).

That's for today! Hope you've enjoyed!
I'll post in here the complete swap layouts when I have them all set, including the display album.

Night-night...

Some updates here...

Just to let you know (if you don't yet)because of the amazing quantity of cards that are being sent in to Cards For Kate, Jennifer McGuire (she is so creative...) decided to add another child - ERIC - to the card drive, which I found great...both children are such sweet kids!
To know more about this heartwarming card drive - visit: jennifermcguireink.com

And also I'm so happy to say I'll be going to the Close to My Heart Portland Regionals Celebration in November!!
I already got my to-do list for the 2 swaps groups I've joined - 2 pages layout and cards plus THE CARD and the scrapbook layout (two-pages spread) for the event contests.
As I received the featured colors and guidelines by Tuesday only, I've decided about my layouts and card sketches and the selected supplies last night...now JUST need to cut ALL the papers and "dive" into the creative process until the end of the month. I'm very excited about this event.

By the experience of some fellow consultants, sounds like will be lots of creative inputs and...so much fun!

I also just finished the Scripture Swaps I've joined with the BB ladies as well the cards for both Kate and Eric...( I had some delays in the last one to have all in one pack) and just waiting to be wrapped and shipped out...!

HOORAY! :)

As for the pictures (both SWAPs, cards and layouts, AND the card kits I mentioned in another post) - I'll keep my words in posting them here by this weekend or so. Just need to get all organized by then...!

For now, the image you see here is the card I made and posted here before, just in the top view and also, the stamp set ( C1301 - Thing of Beauty) I used to create it.

Happy creating(a card? a scrapbook page?....think about it!)

fast, easy and simple

Recently got some people who asked if I'd be offering card kits that would have some "fast and easy" cards to make themselves.
Well, I have good news.
And I think we're just right on time with the approaching of the holidays!

It's the season that even the busiest person would stop for some minutes and send some warm words for a dear friend or a family member. And not just for the long distance ones. You can send cards even for the people that live in the same town. How nice that'd be?

Just imagine yourself finding a totally handmade card in your mailbox - I'm sure that would bring you a smile and make your day merrier!

Above I'm showing a card I made a time ago for a new customer that became a friend too. She got an accident - was in extreme pain and discomfort so I wanted to cheer her up. I'm glad she is now getting better and back to her routine.

The kits will be "released" at next post with some pictures and details.

Now how about writing down the names of people you'd like to send some warm words and get your list ready...I happened to do this every year since my college years...
:)

Have good day!
