Playful Discoveries Album Series - Spring Ed. Review

While the Playful Discoveries(PD) "Summer Edition" is on its way, I want to show bit more of the first 6" x 6" accordion style album - the SPRING edition - and review some interesting parts of it.

For you who are reading and finding this project of mine for the very first time ( I've shared it before in my previous blog without getting into details), here is what and why of this project.I find the 6" x 6" accordion album a great choice to make small scrapbooking because it works as album as well as a display, which is wonderful as gift or as my own keepsake. Close to My Heart offers 2 sizes of this accordion style album ( 6" x 6" and 9" x 9"). There is also a "MEMORY KEEPER" BOX that's easy to assemble and it's a must to keep both size of albums tidy and neat.
Small or mini albums are faster to make and it's great to organize themed photos as I want to separate them in a easy-to-find basis.
I started this PD serie with the Spring Album. I choose some of the remarkable shots of my kid from the months of the season and cropped to match each other. Because I turned the pictures all in B&W so it's a snap to coordinate colors. Then I used the CTMH Daydream Collection, w/ beautiful colors like SWEET LEAF, BLUSH, LILAC MIST AND CREME BRULEE.

As soon as I finish the Summer Ed. of my PD series, I'll post and share more, so you're welcome to come often & see.

Happy Monday!

More Butterflies - the little journal

The square journal you see in here is all covered and decorated with the same stamp set and papers I post last time. Because they are one of my faves I just extended the supplies into other papercraftings.
I also used the LIQUID GLASS to give the whole butterflies a glazed shiny, dimensional look. And as accents the WHITE RICRAC and BLUSH designer ribbon as well the flower shape brads for the finishing touch.

Have a great weekend!

Good Afternoon!

Because this is the first post of the other "segment" of the blog that I'll call as CARDS TALK - where I'll share some of the techniques or tips I've got by making my cards - I also want to share something behind my stamping and card making background, how they came out to my crafting life.
I've always been attached to all things crafty - my mom used to say that I need to choose ONE type and dedicate to just that, like herself for knitting - she is a great knitter , by the way - but I never followed her advice as well.
Today I can return to my past years and see how many things I had my "hands-on" and are still there waiting to be continuously improved, technical and "emotionally" speaking. Watercolors, Oil paintings, Drawings, knitting, crochetting and then other artsy things like playing some musical instrument (piano, flute, violin, guitar).
What can I say...just love these!!
However, by the time of my college years, I ended up choosing to graduate in the health care provider field. Which is very rewarded itself as I could help and learn so much from. BUT I have to say... it's EXTREMELY STRESSFUL.

After I became wife and mom, I turned myself to the side of ME that needed to speak up. My "craft"ologist side. Then now I'm no longer working outside as a health care people but as a simple person who just want to create something I can consider MY ART, just with stuff I find in our every day life, and of course, playing along with my kid through what I like to call CREATIVITY.

Now, back to my cards. I love butterflies (or flutter-bies as my little one would say). And I wanted to start this CARDS TALK by showing these 2 cards I made with a stamp set and the paper packet (just butterflies, not the sentiments ) that are not found in the current catalog of Close To My Heart, but it's still up to purchase while supplies last.
Let me know if you'd like it. These are that I like to keep because it's naturally and simply beautiful by itself.

Thanks for stopping by.

As I'm back after the "almost 3 weeks" break from my creativity corner, I'm happy to share some of the scrapbook layouts I made for the recent contest promoted by Close to My Heart corporate. Although I didn't win - which is fine because I had so much fun doing these pages - I got some very nice comments from people out there.
Someone asked to post it on my blog so here we go!

This is also the first of the segments I'm planning to have here as part of my blog, I'll call it as Life Pages. I hope you enjoy it!

The stamps set are from the CTMH January Campaign "KEY TO MY HEART", Chocolate Alphabets (large)and the Emporium Paper collection. The accents are from the Mini Medley Chocolate Shades and Designer Brads Pewter.

Have a great day!
